Check out this version of a Nigerian email scam from this fine Christian woman, My dear Mrs. Rophina Meigh. Praise the Lord, this must be true.
Are you kidding me? This email is so over-the-top religious that it is hilarious!

Donation Offer

Calvary greeting from Mrs. Rophina Meigh

My dear, all the glory, honour and thanks giving belong to our Almighty God that gives us new day, strength and spiritual blessings. The Lord Jesus is so gracious, full of mercy and love. Praise the Lord; it is my pleasure to know you. Indeed, is so privilege that from among others, God have chosen you to divulge, something so hard to accept. My name is Mrs. Rophina Meigh married to Late Eng. Pharabis Meigh who was a contractor before his sudden death.

We were married for 17 yrs without a child, due to customs of my late husband’s community, I was denied all inheritance from my beloved husband and his family pushed me out of my matrimonial home due to my childless. I am now staying in the hospital where I’m undergoing throat/breast cancer treatment which has been giving me a sleepless night. But, no matter reports from the doctor, I strongly believe that Jehovah Ralph, the God that Healeth thee, Jehovah Jireh, the great provider will surely confirm his word in 1 Peter 2:24 upon my life because the Holy Scripture has made us to understand that with Faith, we shall sub due every
situation in our lives.

Dear, since my present condition will not allow me handling my promise to the house of the Lord, I decided to donate this funds (8.920 million Euros) which is the only inheritance funds from my beloved husband that is under my name as the next of kin, which his entire family does not know anything about the deposited funds by my husband and will never and never know, hence their evil maltreatments to my life immediately after the funeral of my husband. Now, this money is still with the financial institution where my husband deposited the funds and registered it as charitable belongings. I know that after you finish reading this message, it will be difficult for you to believe due to volume of amount that is involved but as a Christian that worship God in trust and Spirit, I want you to go into prayers, seek the face of God in order to have his confirmation over his divine directions to a sister that you have never seen before in all your life (The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, Psalm 28:7). I strongly believe that the good God who directed me to you as the rightful person to handle this donation funds will surely speak to your hearing and understanding. Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3).

I wait for your reply with your personal information, full name, home address and telephone number including your ID immediately after your communication with God who is able to open things of the secret to everyone that obey his commandments and work in his glorious ways, so that I will handle it to my late husband’s lawyer for him to obtain a change of ownership of documents covering this money at the financial institution to your name as the new beneficiary chosen by God to use for the survival of poor people. Praying for my situation is the most essential thing I need from you now as my fellow brethren in the Lord.

Thanks and remain blessed.
Mrs. Rophina Meigh

Public Access TV

In 1984, a piece of legislation called the Cable Franchise Policy and Communications Act became law. This Legislation requires U.S. cable television companies to fund local organizations to provide training and access to media technology and cable distribution on the local cable systems. Public access TV is an excellent example of democracy and a vehicle for free speech for all citizens. Any member of a community may take advantage of public access TV.

Here in Grafton, MA, we have many resources available free of charge, including a TV studio, trainings, and all the equipment needed so that anyone can produce a TV show, either live or pre-recorded. Grafton Community Television manages three channels, 11, 12 and 13. Channel 11 is for general interest (public access) programming, Channel 12 is for local government programming, and Channel 13 features school programming and high school sports events. Three channels are fairly common on public access television and is called “PEG access”, short for Public, Educational, and Governmental.

Aaron is very interested in film making and spends much of his free time making movies, including filming, acting, and editing his own movies for youtube. He would like to eventually work in the film industry. Last summer he took the GCTV Kids Summer Video Class and he really enjoyed the class.

A couple of times a year the station also offers adults a producers class. Aaron wanted to take this class too, but since he is under 18, he needed an adult to be responsible for him and he also had to get special permission from the Grafton Cable Television Oversight Committee, as well as several references. Permission for Aaron to take the class was granted and last fall Aaron and I took the course together. We both had a great time and we learned so much about television producing. Now, Aaron has is own TV show on Grafton Public Access and I think he is the youngest producer with a regular programing slot. His show is called “Dark Nights of Grafton” and it airs 3 times a week.

The same show airs 3 times a week for 2 weeks, so he has to have a new video every two weeks. Since he is such a prolific film maker, this is not a problem. He just dropped off episode #17 at the studio yesterday.

The Bloody History of the Fertile Crescent

Prepare to be enlightened. The Bloody History of the Fertile Crescent takes a fresh and unique new look at the bible stories we’ve all heard, but never really fully examined. This is a wonderful book and one of my new favorites!

The Bloody History of the Fertile Crescent

By Barry Pomeroy

Biblical stories have a grave and exhilarating rhetorical power. Even those who claim they have been raised without the benefit of church have not entirely evaded scripture; when they hear the familiar tales of the Ark, Garden, and Jesus on the cross, the expression on their face betrays an understanding, on almost a visceral level, of the biblical narratives.

The stories that traditional tellings have avoided, that hover just behind the prevailing interpretation, are some of the most interesting of all. These stories remained untold because the characters were seen as uninteresting or unpopular and therefore no place was reserved for them in the dominant record. There are also buried stories secreted within the main figures, their more obscure motivations and hidden wishes.

Read here of Ismael and Isaac’s unusual connection, to see how Jesus came to be the son of God, how Satan and God’s relationship deteriorated, how Jonah fared in the whale, and why Adam and Eve left the garden. Read to find out why Job was punished, what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah, where Joseph got his coat, and the origins of Mary’s fantastic explanation. Learn what Moses did with the first set of commandments, why Cain slew Able, why the Tower of Babel faltered, and Jesus’ advice about talent. Read this alternative bible so this ancient text can fulfil its original project: The Bloody History of the Fertile Crescent.

Star Trek Movie Review

I took Aaron to see the new Star Trek movie this weekend and was blown away. What an awesome movie! Long time Trek fans will love this movie because of the nostalgia. They did an excellent job with the background stories of the original crew. But even if you are not a Star Trek fan, there is plenty to like about this movie. It’s definitely one to see on the BIG screen. Don’t wait for the DVD.
