2 down 48 to go…

The ban on same-sex marriages was struck down today in California, as California joins Massachusetts in upholding the civil rights of its citizens. It’s only a matter of time before all states come to the same conclusion, since it is clearly unconstitutional to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation. California made the right decision today when you understand two simple things:

1. separation of church and state
2. separate is not equal

I just want to say that I 100% wholeheartedly agree with you.

I wish that more people would come to this realization. I’m not gay but I’d like to know that if I were, I could marry whomever I please.

One argument that I like to make when it comes to gay marriage is what about those couples who have children either through adoption or one of them being insemminated? In the cases like Jodi Foster who is now breaking up with her longtime girlfriend with whom she has 2 children. They are biologically hers but what about the other parent? How is it fair to the person who has helped raised them for their entire lives as a parent to have no rights. It is greatly disturbing.

This is absolutely a discussion of separation of church and state. I look forward to the day when every state overturns the bans on gay marriage.
