Religiolous

I finally had a chance to see the movie Religiolous with Bill Maher. I liked the movie, but unfortunately, I don’t think it was good enough to make a difference. The documentary seemed a bit disorganized. It started off funny, slowed to a crawl in the middle and ended powerfully. The best part of the whole movie was the last 10 minutes where Bill talks about how religion has the capacity to destroy mankind.

One point was made clear in the movie. Basically, all religions are the same and have little connection with facts or reality. Most people actually know very little about their own religion, they simply believe what they have been taught without much thought or proof. I would have liked to have seem more time spent on the history and facts, as they relate to gods and science, rather than so much time spent talking to crazy people. But I guess that wouldn’t have been as funny and after all, Bill Maher is a comedian.

The take home message? Religion is detrimental to the progress of humanity. When religious fanatics are allowed to control governments, history has shown, from the Crusades to George W. Bush, that the results can be disastrous. Now that we have the power to annihilate ourselves, Armageddon could easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If rational thinking people do not stand up against religion, we are all doomed.

I doubt this movie will change the minds of many believers, in fact, I would guess that the people most likely to watch this movie are Atheists. Excuse the pun, but I’m afraid Religiolous will be “preaching to the choir”.

The only way he can make a case against religion is to interview a bunch of crazy people?

He thinks he only needs 10 minutes to make the claim that religion can destroy the world?

    Surprise, surprise…yawn, yawn.

Hi Nick! The interviews were funny and a bit scary. Actually, I would guess that most of the people interviewed are fairly rational, except when it comes to religion. I would have liked to have seem more facts and less interviews, but again Bill is a comedian. I did find the movie funny, but I don’t think many religious people will be laughing.

I thought it was funny, but I agree what you said it won’t change many people. Although, I DO think people who are atheists will get a charge out of it (as me and Cindy) did. Bill is funny no matter what situation you put him in. So, I would give the film * * * * out of 5 stars. =-)

I watched this movie last night. I am a Christian, non-denominational but born again non-catholic. I am in involved member of my church. I am sometimes liberal rather than ultra conservative. Despite that, I chose to watch this movie not to get my mind changed but to just see Bill’s comical view points on the topic.

I will admit that taken with a grain of salt, some of the movie was funny. Certain points I could possibly agree with. There are many rituals and dogma in some religions and/or denominations. The old testament (Jewish) laws concerning work on the sabbath for example. However, with the majority of the movie, I not only disagreed but also was disturbed.

It was annoying that most of the preachers/people Bill chose to speak to fell into 1 of 3 categories. He chose to speak with prosperity pastors, people who are not very educated in their faith, or…. complete psychotics. My examples below will fall into the realm of Christianity not any of the other religions.
Prosperity Pastors or preachers who are commonly seen on television in the form of televangelists, do not peach the message in the Bible that Jesus taught or that his Disciples spoke of. Joel Osteen for example, is a VERY popular prosperity preacher. They come off as money hungry, greedy and selfish because it seems they are only it to sell you something (like a book or DVD). I will say that I enjoy hearing Joel teach because he is a very good motivational speaker. However, his messages need to be compared with what the Bible truly does and does not say about money. For instance, it doesn’t say you can’t be rich but it does say that any treasures you store up on Earth will be lost (Matthew 6:19…keeping in mind He means lost to the individual, not the family). In Matthew and Luke, Jesus says “it is easier for a rich man to go through the eye of a needle than it is to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”. In Luke 16:19-31, it is written Jesus told a story about a rich man and Lazarus, recorded in Luke 16:19-31 19″There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22″The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[c] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ 25″But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ 27″He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ 29″Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30″ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31″He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
In Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus tells a story of a rich man who asks him about how to get into Heaven. The account in Matthew 16:19-26 reads like this—-16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, ” ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ 20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With human beings this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Both teachings are not saying that you can not be rich. In short, they are saying that you can not treat money and wealth as if it is a god. In addition, the first teaching is basically saying to the Jewish people “you didn’t believe me with the Prophets and you will not believe me when I raise my Son from the dead”…..Many of them didn’t! In the second teaching Jesus tells his followers how to get in to Heaven (by having a relationship with God further explained in other teachings). It is ok to be rich, but not ok to be greedy while being rich or getting rich placing in front of you before God, family, etc. A non-religious example is when a father for instance, spends all of his time working to make money for the family and never spends time with his son. What is more valuable to the son in the long run?

The second group of people he primarily spoke with on the dvd, were those not very educated in their faith. There were numerous times that people looked stupid because of their responses or did not know the answer. I am sure that many of the people are new to the faith or incomplete. In a recent survey which I do not recall the source, something like only 12% of Catholics read their Bible on a regular basis. Many people in our country claim to be Christian but never seek to gain understanding…they just listen. If the person they listen to is not a good teacher, like in any educational setting, they will not learn (or learn in-correctly). I do not claim to have all of the answers myself because I don’t. I do know that many of the answers given that day, are not accurate with the many teachings. One of the most disturbing of the questions to me came when Bill gave a blanket statement that “none of the writers of the Bible were witnesses”. This was simply NO TRUE. I don’t think Bill intended to lie but I do think he was ignorant to the origins of the Bible. Matthew and John were 2 of the 12 disciples and James was Jesus’ brother. Matthew, used to be a tax collector which means he kept very accurate records. He was the group’s recording secretary if you will according to historical records I learned from during a class called the “Truth project”. John, who wrote His Gospel, several letters and the Book of Revelation was not only 1 of the 12, but 1 of 3 in Jesus’ inner circle. They were witnesses.. Bill’s ignorance, sadly, will not be questioned by many “on the fence”.

He also asked “Why don’t the gospels match up?”. They don’t match up on purpose. This is because, they were each meant to teach a different thing about Jesus to the people reading:

The Gospel according to Matthew was meant to teach Jews that Jesus was their Messiah and Enternal King

The Gospel according to Mark was meant to teach new Christians in the Roman Empire who Jesus was (the man, His work and teachings)

The Gospel according to Luke was meant to teach all of God’s people and non-Jews, regardless of where they are from, about the history of Jesus and of the fact He was a perfect Human and our Savior

The Gospel according to John was meant to teach New Christians and non-Christians (not known as Christians back then) that Jesus was actually the Son of God and of the message of Eternal Life.

Bottom line, they are not the same because they have different purposes. Also, another witness was James…..James was Jesus’s step brother (I mean James the writer of the Book of James not James the disciple)

Finally, the third group of people were complete psychotics. The “senior adviser to the Vatican” that Bill spoke with outside of the Vatican for instance. His responses, if he really was a priest, were un-professional to say the least. He was correct in his survey however, that Jesus is 5th on the list of people “CATHOLICS” not all Christians pray to for help. The Bible teaches that one should ONLY pray to Jesus and in Jesus’s name, not to any other saints.

Senor Miranda is another example. Now, many people may be upset that I think he’s crazy however, the Bible clearly states that Jesus, when He returns, will not be born like He was the first time. He will come in the clouds as a man, ready for war. He will establish His kingdom on Earth and overthrow the un-holy trinity (Satan, the Anti-Christ, and the False prophet). He will not be Puerto Rican or any other nationality and, He will come more than likely, over the middle east in the Valley of Armageddon. In a part of Islam…I am sorry because I do not recall what specific faction (such as Sunni or Shi-ite but it’s the one that is prominent in Iran), Jesus is spoken of as returning and praying with the 12th Iman and praying with him before (Jesus) overthrows the anti-christ and establishes His Kingdom. Disregard that Muslims think of Jesus as only a Plus, on a very sad side note for those of us who are American, the United States is not mentioned by name in the End Times Prophecies. Anyway…

A common argument that many atheist scientists argue about is that of Evolution. May I point out that Evolution is a THEORY. It can not be proven. In essence, I can say with certainty that Scientists have more faith then most people of religion because Faith by definition is believing in something as true, that can not be proven. Their faith just is supported by some physical evidence while faith of religious groups, is based on teachings passed down by subsequent generations.

I can not dispute that some parts of evolution, such as any laws on animal adaptations, most certainly are not only possible but possible. But even Darwin himself can not explain the origin of the species completely. He created a theory. The theory of the Big Bang could very well have happened however, a simple question….if all the matter of the universe just happened to come together and pressurize in such as way that an explosion occurred and created a cycle of life on this planet, then where did the Gas come from to begin with? To answer “it was just always there”, then that is admitting that there is a more powerful entity that would able something to come out of nothing. Christians who do believe parts of evolution can very easily say that that “something” was caused by God because since God’s ways can not be explained, we can determine a starting point. If we are descended from apes, it is not impossible for God to choose to separate the various primate species and create (brand new) Human beings just like he separated and created Alligators and Crocodiles or any other comparable species. Plus, it is possible that Adam and Eve were not the only Humans on Earth after they were banned from the Garden of Eden. There is no telling what happened because unlike all of the other books of the Bible, it is true that Moses write Genesis and was not there to witness it. Exodus through Revelation however, did have witnesses or students of people that were witnesses to the historical events that occurred.

In terms of the creation museum person who claimed that Humans roamed the land with dinosaurs and the follow up Vatican astronomer, it is true that a day in God’s mind is like a 1000 years for us so, it is quite probably in my mind that “day 6”, where all land animals including Humans were created occurred over many thousands of years. The creation museum is the complete opposite of the theory of evolution and in reality, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Finally, while at the Holy Land theme park in Orlando, Bill interview the actor portraying Jesus and asked him a very serious question paraphrased, ” If Jesus is all powerful and will save the world, why doesn’t He just do it now?” The actor answered “HE will” which wasn’t good enough for Bill. The actor should have said to Bill why? It is written that no one knows the exact hour and time of Jesus’ return although there will be signs. Without making this rather long posting even longer, I will sum it up by saying that Jesus is waiting until his time is right. We can’t question when that is although many of us beg for it to be soon. The fact is that Jesus, instead of killing all non-believers now, is waiting for everyone to choose. He doesn’t want to force them as he did in the much of the old testament or punish them…he wants them to follow Him through choice. Those that choose, will be saved. He gave Humans free will and He wants us to use it.

It may be surprising that it does not bother me that atheists do not believe in God. Well…it bothers my heart but I recognize it is a right. I do not believe that religion, in any form, should be forced down someone’s throat. However, I also believe whole heartedly that atheism should not be forced upon the masses either. Why is so wrong to believe in God? Why is wrong to choose to Worship so long as others are not hurt? The Christian crusades of the middle ages were wrong. The Muslim terrorist attacks by Muslim extremists are wrong. Forcing someone to go to church is wrong. However, not allowing someone to pray if they choose, not allowing someone to attend church, not allowing people to publicly express their views and religious beliefs, is wrong also. We have freedom in America and so long as that freedom does not take away of from the rights of others or break our laws, they should be tolerated.

Regardless if the Bible is true (which I believe) OR if it is a bunch of stories, it is in fact a good moral foundation for the morality, values and beliefs of the American laws. When Jefferson took out the religious divinity of Jesus, he was doing the Christian religion a favor by saying in essence ”even if Jesus of Nazareth is not the Son of God, these are some pretty good ways to live”

Atheists may agree that “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, body and soul…this is the greatest commandment” is wrong. However, I am confused to think that atheists that are functioning members of society could disagree with “and the 2nd is just like it, to love your neighbor as you love yourself”.

I think Bill is confused which is ok but his ignorance was supported by the people he spoke with. He started by saying that the one thing he hates more than Bible Prophecy was self fulfilling Bible Prophecy….he did just that in his movie.

    Hi Todd, thanks for visiting.

A couple of comments. When Bill said “none of the writers of the Bible were witnesses”, he was talking about the New Testament, which is true.

Regarding evolution, evolution is both a theory and a FACT. In the words of Steven Jay Gould, “facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world’s data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts do not go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein’s theory of gravitation replaced Newton’s, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid-air, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from apelike ancestors whether they did so by Darwin’s proposed mechanism or by some other, yet to be discovered.”

Regarding “then where did the Gas come from to begin with?” I’d answer by saying, where did God come from?

I agree with most of your criticisms of the movie. But do keep in mind that Bill is a comedian, so it should not come as a surprise that he would interview some funny people. On the other hand, I was however impressed with Father Coyne (Vatican Observatory). He was very interesting. I also thought the last 10 minutes or so of dialog was the best part of the movie.

I personally don’t have a problem with people believing what ever God they choose, as long as we maintain a separation of church and state. Once you mix religion with politics and government, you have problems. History (past and present) has clearly shown this to be true.

Thank you Cindy for replying so quickly. Iassume that when a new post is made, you automatically receive an email. Interesting. If you look into the history of the Bible, you’ll see that in fact my statement is TRUE that the writers I mentioned of the New Testament (Matthew, John and James) were witnesses. Go into any Barnes and Noble or comparable book store and open an NIV study bible. At the beginning of each section, it tells who the book or letter was written by and for what audience. Clearly, it can not be disputed that Matthew and John were 2 of the 12 apostles and thus, MUST have witnessed most if not all of what they were writing about. James was His step brother (son of Mary and Joseph) therefore, also was a witness to much of what Jesus taught although by his own admittance, wasn’t truly involved in ministry until later. Research it if you don’t believe my word for it. The Bible is written with 4 categories: Historical account, stories to teach lessons, prophecy and advocacy/evangelism. So…anyone, is free to believe or not believe whatever they want about what is written in the Bible but it is simply not true that the New Testament writers I cited, were not direct witnesses. They were.

In terms of the evolution theory, theories can not be proven. That is why they are theories. You can not have a theory that is also fact because once it is proven, it is no longer a theory, it is a law. The Einstein reference you spoke of was not the theory of gravity…it was a different factor relative to the law of gravity. Example….humans thought the Earth was flat…that was a theory despite that most of the world believed it. When Columbus, Magellan and others proved it was round…that became law. It CAN be proven that humans and other primates share much of the same genetic code. The “missing link” between Neanderthals and modern day intellectual humans can not be found. Therefore, it has never been changed to the “law of evolution”. Most scientists believe it because of the data that can be proven about it but many scientists do in fact agree that a divine creator, whatever that means, had to be involved.

Examine the complexity of human birth. Watch the PBS Nova video Miracle of Life from the late 80’s or Life’s greatest Miracle from the 90’s. This complex creation of life is far much more superior to that of common bacteria for instance. I don’t understand how a divine creator could not be the catalyst to this truly remarkable miracle.

I love the question where did God from? I don’t know…..anyone who tells you they do, is crazy. That is where true faith comes in (scientifically or religiously) because to deny a divine creator, as I stated in my previous posting, would mean that there was no way that the gases could be created. There has to be a starting point. By believing in God or some other divine creator of your choosing, (whatever that means because this argument in this paragraph right now is generic not Christian specifically), then we are admitting that we can not answer some things but that in someway, there was a creator. Scientists have a very difficult time explaining this and accepting it…for valid reasons. They want to deal in facts not theories but then use a theory to explain it which confuses me….Anyway, Fact is, believers of whatever faith, right or wrong, have no problem because we accept that we are not meant to know that part of the way the universe works at this point in our feeble existence.

Which actually brings a good question up for other philosophies? If atheists believe there is no God and agnostics believe there is something but don’t know what that is, and Humanists believe it’s all about us, etc etc etc., what is the meaning to life? From a Christian perspective, the meaning of life is to choose, through one’s own will, not forced, not coerced through violence, to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior, the way to Heaven upon death and/or the rapture and judgment. While living, they are to do everything for the Glory of God which often translates into loving and helping other people. Whether that’s done or not is a different story but…. Various religions have various names for their god and what it means to reach salvation etc…That doesn’t matter in this point…it’s not about who’s right or wrong, it’s about what is the meaning of life? I can’t remember the person who quoted this but truly, if a life is without meaning, what is the point to living it? One is empty and constantly in search of something. To accept that all we have is to live on this world and then die with nothing else…then what should we truly be doing while we are here? And for that matter…where is here?

I totally agree with what the last 10 minutes of the movie was saying. I would’ve liked it more if it was shown to the United Nations and they got the true point. You said that you “don’t have a problem with people believing what ever God they choose, as long as we maintain a separation of church and state. Once you mix religion with politics and government, you have problems”. That is also true because often, throughout history, people tried forcing their religious beliefs onto others through violence. When Hitler traded the cross for his picture in most German churches, he was essentially saying he was a god and everyone needed to worship him. When the King of England and the Pope sent the crusaders into the middle east to overtake and control the holy land and or to kill people in Europe who did not worship Jesus, they were wrong. When Muslims kill others for not following the way of the Koran, they are wrong. Theocracies should not exist. A government should not in any way be totally controlled by a religious perspective. However, it doesn’t always hurt to have a religious perspective in decision making. Last year, the United Nations made a statement of inclusion and tolerance for religious beliefs that essentially gave the world freedom of religion but not freedom of violence in the name of religion. That’s where the problems have come throughout history. In the late 70’s when morning prayer time was taken out of Public schools, what did that prove? How could silent prayer do anything to offend anyone? An atheist or agnostic could spend the quiet prayer time to personally reflect on something going on in their lives. Students of many different faiths could pray to their God or gods and keep their personal communication, relationship open with that entity. From an objective non-Chritsian perspective, which many people see as impossible coming from a Christian but I try to separate when speaking of government, I see no problem in any of the moral teachings found in the Bible’s new testament that our country has built foundations on. In actuality, I see a downgrade of society especially in many of today’s youth in the inner cities, where people are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, disobedient to their parents, without self control, un-grateful, users of drugs, and with increased violence. Those people that are not falling into one or more of these categories are either people of God or people having some form of godliness but denying that there is a god or in God’s power. Meaning….many atheists or agnostics really follow much of the Bible without even meaning to follow the Bible. Therefore, history has shown us that war can and has been waged because of the Bible and other religious teachings but a lot of good has come from them too.

After you study the origins of the New Testament if you choose to take up that challenge, perform a study on End times prophecies. Look at end times teachings concerning the topic using the internet, you tube, etc in Christianity (many many movies …, many of which are actually pretty entertaining while some are cheesy), the end times teachings of the Koran and the 12th imam, the Mayans (anything relating to December 21st 2012 and there’s a lot of those movies out now), the Oracle at Delphi, the Chinese “book of changes”, the teachings of Merlin (the real life “mystic” , not the fictional wizard), the Hopi Indians and even Einstein’s theory of a polar shift from the 1950’s….all of these theories, some of them with exact dates, some without: some from religious figures of mono-theistic abrahamic faiths and some from polytheistic faiths, have very similar if not eerily disturbing predictions about end times prophecy. I did not include nostradamus because his quatrains can be interpreted almost any way people want them to, but many of the above mentioned sources either were not believers in the other areas OR had no contact (as in the case of the Hopi Indians, Mayans, and John who wrote Revelations.

Very interesting to say the least.

Whenever I debate religion with a theist, the discussion always boils down to one thing and that is a leap of faith. You took that leap, I wont.

Another interesting thing is that religious people seem to think that atheists are missing something and that their lives are incomplete. Those of us who do not have the strong need for religion – a need that I think is evolutionary and inherited – do not feel like we are missing anything, since we don’t have this need to begin with. So, life is good:-)

Ok…let me give my main point in a non-religious perspective then.

Wellness can be defined as living optimally in all areas of one’s self. The areas are Physical, Intellectual (some times called mental), Social, Emotional and Spiritual (sometimes called ethical). The spiritual dimension for many people is helped by religion but it doesn’t mean that. It means, ANY influences in one’s life (which could be religion but also family, culture, environment, even television, music…etc). that helps to shape a world view. I essence, it’s what is right and wrong in different situations.

This world view then cause a person to have beliefs, values, and finally outward behaviors.

So, for a person to live optimally in the Physical realm, they stay away from drugs, don’t smoke, don’t drink heavily or too often, eat healthy, exercise, manage stress, ect.

Intellectually, they study, try to learn new things, practice, write, read, etc.

Socially, the learn how to act in different situations….I may scream at a Baseball game when a homerun is hit but not at a movie theater. I need to stand in lines..etc

Emotionally…again, how to manage stress, control anger, express feelings, deal with depression, grief etc.

Now when any of those areas is deficient, one’s physical self is deficient as well. Research shows a ton of ways stress harms physical, intellectual and social health for example.

However social, emotional and spiritual health, when a person is deficient in one of those areas….can also harm other people as well. Again, when I say spiritual health, I do not mean stemming from religion, I mean the person’s values of right and wrong in given situations.

I think the point of the movie that religion has caused harm over the ages is true.

I think religion has also caused good in so many people’s lives

Leap of faith is a good way to sum it up and not everyone can do that. Some will never do it. But I think, at least I hope, that the key here is when a person’s emotional, social or spiritual health (in the definition I gave) harms other people physically, then that’s when it becomes a problem. Otherwise, if a another person’s physical health is not going to be effected, what does it matter?

Walmart tried to have Merry Christmas changed to Happy Holidays as not to offend non-Christians. Does the term physically hurt anyone?

I’m asked all the time about gay marriages….frankly, I could care less. If gay people want to get married, go ahead. I don’t like the term marriage because I think the vast majority of even non-religious people in this country associate marriage as between a man and a woman in order to raise a family. But I don’t care if they have domestic partnerships with all of the privileges that go with marriage . I do have a problem with what’s happening in some states where they are trying to force churches into presiding over gay marriages.

I think that should be the point of any critique over religion…not that it is un-needed or a waste of time…but, that people have free will…some choose religion, some do not…regardless, no one should ever be physically harmed over their beliefs

    Does this make more sense?

Cindy, I really appreciate your first positing where you said you don’t care what people believe. too often, people of religion try to force people into believing what they want and people that are atheists, try to force those of religion into not being able to publicy worship. I appreciate and thank you for your time in this discussion and apologize if anything I said offended you.

Look up the information I suggested earlier in secular (non-religious) sources to see what you come up with.

Makes sense Todd and I agree with you. I also do think religion is helpful to many people. The problem comes when governments base their policies on a particular religion or worse, use religion to manipulate people. My #1 purpose in speaking out against religion is to protect the separation of church and state, which I think deteriorated greatly under George W. Bush. The religious right has gotten way too involved in politics and I feel it’s important to push back in order to protect the rights of all Americans (not to even mention the terrible tolls of religion in some other countries).

Hi there!! I just want to first say, what an interesting dialogue going on here, and that I appreciate the tact shown in this discussion.

Having been rasied a Catholic, I first grew suspicous when I accociated the fact Jesus was killed under Pontius Pilate, A Roman Leader, and the fact that Romans had so much to do with the spreading of Christianity… (through.. God bless their little souls- the muder, raping, and pilliaging known as the Crusades, you were killed if “you did not believe”) Tie that in with the fact that Rome had specifically one goal – World Domination.. and there you have it.

And thats all i have to say about that… I really just want to interject an interesting thought.

10,000 years ago was the start of civilazation. Interesting enough, it was Mesopotamia, what is now modern day Iraq. (? Hmmm…) The ancient Sumarians wrote of some interesting things… They knew of the 12th Planet Nibiru (google it.. very interesting) but that is the same planet also known as Planet X, the one on a very far orbit past Pluto. How did they know that?!!! Btw, this Planet is coming back to our solar system soon, within 200 or so years.

Ok, so these people who know of this exsisting planet wrote that it was inhabited by the Anunnaki. Not gods, but which translated to “those of royal blood”. They go on to say….. that Humans were genetically engineered to become slaves to mine gold.

That is perhaps why we are so poorly and haphazardly put together, with so many flaws in our DNA, and the ability to use only 10% of our brain.

This scenario seems like quite a logical conclusion, the probility that there is more intelligent life amung the countless galazies which contain countless solar systems and countless planets.

To think we are the only ones is an arrogant trait of humans. And the sad part is: for most people of the religions, I couldn’t see their God even wanting them. With all the evil associated. And hyprocracy.

    Dont get mad: Educate yourself.

And I’m sorry people, but in the end…. many will relize that they were so wrong, due to closed ears.

I believe in Physics. That energy can neither be created nor distroyed, that it will always change form, continue on…. I BELIEVE IN BEING AMBIDEXTRIOUS, LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST, STANDING UP TO ANYTHING, BEING THOUGHTFUL, BEING SURE. I BELIEVE IN THE ADVANTAGE OF HAVING NO FEAR AND THE BENIFIT OF LOVING EVERYTHING. i BELIEVE IN MIND OVER MATTER, THE POWER OF THINKING POSITIVE AND THAT DEEDS ARE RECEPROCATED THOUGH A MEANS OF CIRCUMSTANCES CULMINATING WITH THE SUCCESS OF ACTIONS MIRRORED FORTH BY THAT WHICH YOU PUT OUT. (my definition of Karma) I only hope that our exsitance, as a whole, the human race- can one day awaken, and see the brilliance of Life itself. And choose only to embrace a more postive conciousness, for the benifit of all mankind.

Have a great Day, Cindy.. good lil’ blog you have here.
