Nomination

It’s Official!

Congratulations to Barack Obama! What a historic and exciting race this has been. It’s too bad that Al Gore didn’t fight as hard as Hillary. Bush would have lost the election back in 2000 and the world would be a better place today. But that didn’t happen and we have a lot of work to do in order to get our country back on track.

Now it’s time for the democratic party to come together behind our nominee Barack Obama. While I’ve been a Hillary supporter, the fact is that there is little difference between these two candidates and where they stand on the important issues facing our country today. However, the differences between Obama and McCain – and the two parties – are immense. And so, it’s an easy call for democrats to back Obama in the general election. On to victory in November and a new beginning for the United States of America!

Mixed feelings…

I support Hillary Clinton, because I think she is the best person for the job. But I have to admit I’m worried. If Hillary wins the nomination, will this discourage and alienate Obama supporters. Many Obama supporters are young first-time voters. Will they be disillusioned if Obama should lose. Personally, I like both Hillary and Barack and would support just about any Democrat, as long as the Republicans lose. But if this fight between Clinton and Obama leads to a win for McCain…I don’t even want to think about it. I’m finally getting over my depression from the 2004 election, ugggg.
